Liverpool are to hold talks about cutting a loan player’s spell short, while Inter Milan have their eyes on a Tottenham first-team star – all in the latest European papers.
LIVERPOOL TO HOLD TALKS OVER KARIUS LOAN
Liverpool are to entertain talks with Besiktas over terminating goalkeeper Loris Karius’ loan spell at the club, according to reports.
Karius, who was partly at fault for Liverpool‘s Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid in 2018, was ditched by Jurgen Klopp shortly after, with him being sent out on a two-year temporary stay at the Turkish side.
However, the German has endured a tough time at Besiktas having been unable to recover his form and according to Turkish outlet Takvim [via Sport Witness], the club want to cut short his loan.
It is said that president Ahmet Nur Cebi wants to rebuild his side and is looking to offload players – including Karius – who would be replaced by the re-signing of Fabri from Fulham.
Fabri was sold to the Cottagers by Besiktas last summer before being loaned out to Mallorca in September this year, but he is yet to play a single game for the Spanish side.
However, Takvim say that Besiktas must first convince Liverpool to cut short Karius’ loan, which would likely incur a fee.
Karius has two years left on his current Anfield contract having been brought in from Mainz in 2016.
