Harry Kane and two in-form Chelsea stars get the nod for this weekend’s Premier League action, while a key Man City star is benched.
Our man Dave Tindall takes on the Premier League’s Fantasy Football game and will give you some healthy tips each week on who could do the business to boost your points total.
Liverpool marched on to a sixth straight win of the season with a hard-fought victory at Chelsea last week although my trio of Reds players didn’t exactly produce an avalanche of points. Andy Robertson did at least notch an assistant but Sadio Mane limping off didn’t help. Thankfully, I got it right with Manchester City, dropping Raheem Sterling, who was left out, and getting big returns from Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero.

Third best week of the season and nice to get a double-figure haul from John McGinn. But here’s a bizarre fact. The highest scoring defender so far is Sheffield United’s John Lundstram. And, guess what, I’ve had him from the start. But… and this is a big but…. I’ve not reaped the benefit of a single one of his 32 points. Yep, he’s warmed my bench from Week 1 and another 12-point haul slipped through my fingers last weekend. Enough is enough surely. Get him on board! Well, erm, well, Sheffield United are playing Liverpool this weekend and, as he’s classed as a defender, that might not go so well. Maybe next week. Despite that, I did manage to climb back to second in the table in Week 6 although I was outscored to the tune of 20 points by the leader so I have a gap to make up.
Overall points: 356
League position: 2nd
Week 6 breakdown (3-4-3)
Goalkeeper: 3pts
Defence: 11pts
Midfield: 31pts
Forwards: 22pts
Good from the midfield, especially as Mane didn’t contribute much. Aguero carried the attack although it was frustrating to see Josh King have a goal ruled out by VAR. My bench scored 20 points. Drat!

Plan of action
A new plan! Yes, it’s time to get those Chelsea young guns on board although there’s no particularly easy way of doing it. But, with the Blues at home to Brighton, I fancy some goals and in come Tammy Abraham (joint-fifth highest scorer in the whole game) and Mason Mount (same points as Bernardo Silva). As I want Josh King and Dani Ceballos out, I’ll need one more change and, controversially, it comes in attack where I’ll get rid of Sergio Aguero (done me proud) for Harry Kane. Spurs are at home to Southampton, away to Brighton and home to Watford in their next three games so time for Kane to make hay. I only had one free transfer so the extra two will cost me 8pts. That’s the gamble!
Out: Sergio Aguero – £12.1m, Josh King – £6.3m, Dani Ceballos – £5.7m
In: Harry Kane – £11.0m, Tammy Abraham – £7.5m, Mason Mount – £6.6m

Final thoughts
Sadio Mane is classed as having a 75% of playing v Sheffield United after a dead leg last week. It’s potentially misguided to have a lot of money invested on an injury doubt but I expect Mane to play. I quite like this week’s team, more so than last week’s. Time to crash through the 70-point barrier again and hopefully more.
