Liverpool want Ajax star Dave Neres, Manchester United will go hard for Christian Eriksen in January and Keisuke Honda makes transfer plea, all in the papers.

LIVERPOOL IN FOR NERES

Someone at Calciomercato has seen Jurgen Klopp’s list of transfer targets!

Apparently Klopp has Ajax forward David Neres very close to the top of his wanted list after his impressive form last season.

Neres helped the Dutch giants to the last four in the Champions League and the 22-year-old Brazilian forward who hit 12 goals and 15 assists last season.

Neres, who can play all across the front line, has scored twice this season and his contract with Ajax currently runs until 2023. He looks like a player who could fit into Klopp’s mobile Liverpool side and Ajax may struggle to keep hold of another one of their stars if the Reds come calling.

Liverpool and Man Utd have been mentioned as suitors previously but Neres signed a 12-month extension to his contract over the summer to quell the speculation.

Yahoo journalist Jorge Nicola (via Sport Witness) revealed in the summer that United did present an offer for Neres before he signed his new deal, but Ajax want €70m for him.
