Manchester United have been given the green light to move for a Serie A midfield dynamo, while Crystal Palace are keen on signing a teenage Liverpool attacker, according to Friday’s newspapers.
MAN UTD CLOSE IN ON FORMER LIVERPOOL STAR
Manchester United have reportedly been given the green light to pursue a deal for Juventus midfielder Emre Can.
The former Liverpool star is on the fringes of Maurizio Sarri’s first team, managing just one start in Serie A this season, while he was also left out of Juve’s squad for the Champions League group stage.
And according to Tuttosport, the Serie A giants will allow the 25-year-old to leave in January for a fee of around £35million – although United will face some major competition for his signature.
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly interested in the Germany international, while Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to strengthen his engine room and is expected to make a significant effort to land the player.
Solskjaer has been short on central midfield options since allowing Marouane Fellaini to leave for Shandong Luneng at the start of the year, while Ander Herrera completed a free transfer to PSG at the end of last season.
United have also been missing Paul Pogba through injury and while doubts continue over the Frenchman’s long-term future at Old Trafford, it would appear that Solskjaer is ready to make a move to fill that midfield void in the shape of Can.
