Manchester United are ready to make a move for a major Liverpool target, while Man City have a special plan in place for Raheem Sterling – all in the papers.
MAN UTD TO MOVE FOR LEIPZIG ACE
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly stepped up his interest in signing German international hitman Timo Werner, may may be forced to wait until the summer.
RB Leipzig frontman Werner has become one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards and Solskjaer is keen to strengthen his forward line after allowing Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez join Inter Milan over the summer.
Werner, 23, has been with Leipzig for the past three seasons, scoring an impressive 68 times in 124 appearances in all competitions.
He has been a long-time target for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and only signed a new four-year deal at the start of this season, but that has not stopped Premier League interest.
The Sunday Express claims that Werner is on Solskjaer’s shopping list and would be a longer-term solution for his misfiring forward line than veteran Juventus star Mario Mandzukic.
The Croatian is believed to be keen on a move to Old Trafford, despite terms being agreed on a switch to AC Milan.
