Manchester United have learned exactly how much they will have to pay to land Mauricio Pochettino, while Fulham want £7m compensation from Liverpool for Harvey Elliott  – according to Friday’s papers.

POCHETTINO TO MAN UTD TAKES A STEP FORWARD

Manchester United are reportedly learned how much they will to pay to lure Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino to Old Trafford to replace Ole Gunnar Solakjaer.

The Argentine is widely regarded as one of the world’s top managers for the work he has done at Spurs, despite their struggles so far this season, and The Sun claims that a move to replace Solskjaer with the former Southampton boss remains a temptation for United.

The report states Pochettino would cost around £32million to break him out of his contract with Tottenham, but that is being viewed as a bargain move for the Red Devils.

Solskjaer shone while he was in temporarily charge of United after Jose Mourinho’s exit last December but has struggled badly since being handed the job on a full-time basis.

The Norwegian has been criticised for his tactics and team selections and it is hoped that the arrival of Pochettino would resolve those issues.

The report adds that the Spurs chief would jump at the chance of moving to a club with bigger resources, having been hamstring during his time in north London as Tottenham built their impressive new stadium.
