Bayern chasing bargain deal for top Tottenham right-back target

Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on signing Norwich right-back Max Aarons in a bargain deal this summer.

The Canaries will have to offload some of their top stars following relegation from the Premier League.

Two of those names are Aarons and centre-back Ben Godfrey, who have both been linked with Tottenham.

Spurs are after two new full-backs this summer, and Aarons has been on their radar since before the start of last season.

However, Sky Germany claims that Bayern are ready to move for the 20-year-old as an alternative to Ajax star Sergino Dest.

Aarons had been previously rated at €30m (£27m). But the report adds that the Bundesliga giants think they can get a deal done for €20m (£18) due to the Canaries’ relegation.

Fellow Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen are also in the running for the England Under-21 star. But the report adds that Aarons would prefer a switch to Bayern.

Should he move to Bavaria, Aarons would have to compete with experienced France star Benjamin Pavard for a starting spot.

Tottenham could still throw a spanner in the works, however, if they mount a serious bid for the youngster.

Turkish newspaper Sabah, as cited by SportWitness, claims that Fenerbahce are looking to sell their Kosovan frontman Vedat Muriqi.

The 26-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign for the Turkish outfit, netting 17 goals in all competitions this season.

He was strongly linked with Spurs during the January window, after Harry Kane suffered a serious hamstring injury.

But Mourinho was unable to get a deal over the line and Tottenham brought in Steven Bergwijn instead.

Muriqi is for grabs again, however, with Napoli and Lazio also keen. And Fenerbahce ready to sell to the highest bidder.

But Tottenham are not the only English club keen, with Sabah adding that the Baggies also want the frontman. Read more…
