Farke calls for Tottenham and German giants to leave Norwich star alone

Daniel Farke has warned interested clubs that Max Aarons is in the perfect place to develop amid links with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.

The 20-year-old right-back has been one of Norwich’s more successful players upon their return to the Premier League this season, starting in 19 league games.

Consequently, the England youth international is on the radar of several clubs, with reports this week suggesting that Borussia Dortmund were emerging with an interest – prompting Spurs to step up their own efforts.

Tottenham are looking for a more reliable right-back than Serge Aurier, while they could be about to lose his deputy, Kyle Walker-Peters, to Crystal Palace, according to Eagles manager Roy Hodgson.

However, Norwich boss Farke has denied that he is paying attention to the speculation, issuing a hands-off warning to Aarons’ potential suitors.

“I wouldn’t spend too much energy listening to all these rumours,” he said. “Listen, Max is a young guy, only 20 years old and he has four years on his contract. It’s not the right time for him even to think about a January move.

“If I am honest, when you see so many clubs linked with him you have to be very doubtful.

“In Germany a few days ago they say he had already signed for Bayern Munich, then the next day it is Borussia Dortmund. Here in England rumours each and every top club want him.

“When so many clubs are in the race it is very doubtful if that is the case. He has a long contract here and he’s totally at the right place.

“I think he has played something like 21 Premier League games so far, leave him alone and let him play his football.”
