Senior Manchester United figures have discussed the potential signing of a Tottenham star, while Spurs have put together a deal to entice a La Liga target to North London – all in Tuesday’s newspapers.
MAN UTD FIGURES DISCUSS WINKS
Manchester United officials have discussed the potential of signing Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks this month, according to reports.
Having been a regular under former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, Winks has found game time hard to come by under Jose Mourinho.
The England international has only completed 90 minutes twice since the Portuguese took over and an appearance in the FA Cup on Sunday was his 20th appearance of the campaign.
According to The Athletic, senior figures at Old Trafford have talked about a raid for the 23-year-old by the end of January.
The Red Devils are struggling in midfield due to injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba, which have left the club short of options.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have also reportedly been alerted by Winks’ situation at Spurs as they look to address their midfield options.
Fernandinho turns 35 in May and David Silva has already confirmed that he is to leave the Etihad at the end of the season.
