Manchester United have plans in place to sign one of two strikers next month and also have set out their demands over a Paul Pogba swap with Real Madrid, while Chelsea have targeted three ambitious transfers in 2020, according to the European papers.

MAN UTD PLAY TRUMP CARD IN RACE FOR HAALAND AS TWO MORE ATTACKERS ARE TARGETED

Manchester United are reported to have won the race to sign primary transfer target Erling Haaland in January – after offering the striker wages worth 10 times his current salary.

The RB Salzburg star finds himself a man in demand this winter after an incredible season with the Austrians saw and is also being chased by Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.

And while reports earlier in the week claimed Juventus were on the brink of signing him, The Sun, via Tuttosport, believes the striker has now made up his mind and is willing to move to Old Trafford – thanks in no small part to the €200,000 a week wages being reportedly dangled in front of him.

It’s reported United will pay just €30m for Haaland due to a clause in his contract, with his relatively-low transfer fee clearing the way for United to offer the player big wages in return.

And having scored 28 goals in 22 appearances so far for Salzburg this term, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes the teenager will be able to immediately strengthen his side’s attacking prowess.

United, meanwhile, are also said to have told Real Madrid they want to sign Vinicius Junior as part of the Spanish giants’ attempts to lure Paul Pogba to the Bernabeu.

Despite Solskjaer’s insistence that the midfielder is not for sale, El Desmarque claims United are very much willing to let the Frenchman leave and have told Real they want €85m, plus Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior in return for the World Cup winner.

The 19-year-old forward has struggled to hold down a regular place under Zinedine Zidane and it’s suggested the approach will be deemed acceptable by Real, who face the prospect of having to pay well over €150m without offsetting the deal with Vinicius Junior.

And finally, Tuttosport suggests United could yet move for RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner should their efforts to land Haaland fail to materialise.

The Germany striker has long been linked with the Premier League and it’s suggested he could be Solskjaer’s first port of call if efforts to land the Norwegian fall short.

And with doubts emerging again over Werner’s future, the Italian paper believes Leipzig have targeted a move for AC Milan striker Krystof Piatek as his most likely replacement.
