Senior Tottenham players have urged Jose Mourinho to move for a Wolves star, while Newcastle want two Everton defenders, according to Tuesday’s papers.

TOTTENHAM STARS WOWED BY WOLVES ACE

Senior Tottenham players reportedly told Jose Mourinho to sign Adama Traore after he impressed the Spurs squad during Sunday’s clash at Molineux.

Mourinho’s men ran out 2-1 winners thanks to an injury-time goal from Jan Vertonghen but Wolves were the better side for most of the match, with Traore causing them problems throughout and scoring a brilliant equaliser.

Both Eric Dier and Harry Kane were both booked for hacking Traore down, the only thing they could do to stop the powerful winger in his tracks.

Indeed, throughout the season, 24 players have been booked for bringing Traore down.

That searing pace is clearly a very effective weapon for Wolves and according to a report in the Daily Express, some Tottenham players were so impressed that they told Mourinho to sign him up.

One senior player is said to have claimed he was shocked at how much Traore has evolved over the last year.

He joined Wolves from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018 for £18million, but flattered to deceive in his first season in the Black Country.

This season though, he has become one of the most feared wide players in the division and has stamped his mark on Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Mourinho was keen to dish out praise of a number of Wolves stars after the match, but did hint he was enchanted by the performance of Traore.

“Adama and Diogo [Jota]? I don’t want to speak about them because I get tired seeing them run.

“It’s very difficult so it’s a big victory for us.”

Mourinho later added in a separate interview: “Traore and Jota can kill you out of nothing.”
