Man Utd are ready to cough up £119m to beat Liverpool to an England attacker, while Tottenham will sell Christian Eriksen in January – all in Thursday’s newspapers.
MAN UTD DETERMINED TO WIN SANCHO RACE
Manchester United chief Ed Woodward is reportedly willing to pay a massive £119m to sign Jadon Sancho in the January window.
The Red Devils wanted to sign Sancho during the summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer informing Woodward that the Dortmund star was his top transfer target.
But ultimately, United never made a serious play to sign the England international, who is also a major target for Liverpool, and moved to land winger Daniel James from Swansea instead.
However, a report in the Daily Express (via Goal) claims that Woodward is ready to rubberstamp a £119m offer to secure the signature of the Dortmund forward in the New Year.
It’s believed that recent incidents involving the youngster, with Dortmund boss Lucien Favre reportedly making Sancho a scapegoat for his side’s indifferent form this season, has perked United’s interest.
Should United fork out the £119m they are currently willing to pay, it would make Sancho the costliest transfer in the club’s entire history.
Paul Pogba currently sits top of the list, costing United £89million in the summer of 2016, with Romelu Lukaku second on £75m.
