Liverpool could be forced to cash in on a rejuvenated star when the January window opens, while Real Madrid are casting envious eyes over an Arsenal summer signing, according to Monday’s newspapers.

LALLANA CHASED BY A NUMBER OF OVERSEAS SUITORS

Adam Lallana is emerging as a target for clubs in China and Major League Soccer with his Liverpool contract running out this summer, according to reports.

The 31-year-old has forced his way back into Jurgen Klopp’s thinking in recent weeks, scoring the equaliser in the recent 1-1 draw at Old Trafford and making a rare start in place of the rested Fabinho during Saturday’s 2-1 win at Aston Villa.

And although Liverpool plan to offer the midfielder fresh terms on a contract that is due to expire in the summer, the Daily Telegraph reports that a number of clubs in China and America are readying an approach for the former Southampton man ahead of the January window.

And while the player is said to be happy at Liverpool, the Telegraph states he is willing to discuss a move elsewhere in the new year if it guaranteed more regular first-team football, while a switch to either the Chinese Super League or MLS will likely see the player earn a hike in wages.

Addressing speculation on Lallana’s future, Liverpool boss Klopp said: “I don’t know exactly what will happen in May, for anybody by the way, but the best thing a footballer can do when you have the opportunity is play well and that’s what Adam is doing.

“Now is the second time in a row, when he came on against [Manchester] United he was good.

“After a long time he had with some injuries here and there, he is in outstanding shape physically. That’s the most important thing for a career and all the rest, we will see.”
