Manchester City are hoping to beat rivals United to the signing of a midfield sensation, while Celtic are eyeing a move for an old boy, according to Monday’s papers.
CITY AND UNITED FIGHT FOR TEEN SENSATION
Manchester City are reportedly hoping to beat rivals Manchester United to the signing of Norwegian teen Hakon Evjen in the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old currently plays as a central midfielder for FK Bodo/Glimt in Norway and has generated interest across Europe with his outstanding displays.
United have been heavily linked with a move for the teenager, but the Daily Mail claims that City are hoping to beat their local rivals to his signature when the transfer window re-opens in the new year.
Evjen’s displays are also thought to have caught the eye of Anderlecht and AZ Alkmaar, as well as a number of clubs from Italy and Germany.
He has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 19 appearances this season in Norway’s top tier, in which Bodo/Glimt currently sit in second spot.
