PSG are demanding two Barcelona players in a swap deal for Neymar, while Manchester United are ready to renew their interest in a €65m playmaker in January, according to Tuesday’s European press.
MAN UTD
PSG are reportedly willing to let Neymar rejoin Barcelona, but only if their demands are met.
Barca and PSG are said to have held a meeting on Tuesday in an attempt to thrash out a deal for the Brazil international.
The Spanish giants sent Eric Abidal (director of football), Oscar Grau (chief executive) and Javier Bordas (board member) to Paris to speak to PSG sporting director Leonardo and president Nasser Al Khelaifi’s lawyer Djamal Bouras.
Spanish newspaper Sport claims that the Catalan outfit tabled a cash only offer for Neymar, however PSG have asked for £100m plus Nelson Semedo and Ousmane Dembele.
Semedo has become a mainstay in the Barcelona line up, cementing a spot at right-back, while Dembele has struggled to impress at the Nou Camp despite showing flashes of brilliance.
Injuries have played a part in Dembele’s struggles, although Barca are also said to be frustrated with Dembele’s lack of professionalism.
Reports, meanwhile, this week claimed that Neymar has told PSG director Leonardo he only wants to join his old club Barca.
Real Madrid are also chasing the Brazilian, although it would appear that return to the Nou Camp remains the only option on the table.
MAN UTD BACK IN FOR FERNANDES
Manchester United are reportedly considering returning to strike a deal for Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes in January.
The Portugal international was linked with a big-money move to Old Trafford all summer, with Tottenham also interested, but ultimately any deal fell through.
It is believed that United transfer chief Ed Woodward pulled the plug in the move as there were concerns over whether Fernandes could translate his remarkable form in Portugal to the much tougher Premier League.
However, O Jogo, as translated by Sport Witness, reports that Fernandes was once again scouted by the Red Devils at the weekend as the Portugal international set up three Sporting goals.
The report adds that Chelsea, Leicester City, Bayern Munich and Sevilla scouts were also were present at the game, though it’s not clear if they were all watching the same player.
United have so far looked short on creation in the midfield department, although they may see the price for Fernandes rise again if the player continues with his early-season form.
