Sunday stats: Tottenham, Ozil and Milner milestones

Tottenham set a club-record in the Premier League on Sunday, Mesut Ozil impressed again for Arsenal, while Liverpool shut out Swansea City.

Three of Sunday’s four Premier League games ended in draws as Chelsea shut out Tottenham, and West Brom came from behind to draw at West Ham before Norwich City held Arsenal and Liverpool edged past Swansea City in the two later kick-offs.

Here are the Opta stats from the day’s action…

Tottenham Hostpur 0 Chelsea 0

Tottenham Hotspur are now unbeaten in 13 league games – their best run in the Premier League and their best run in the top-flight since March 1985 (14 games).

Chelsea have won just one of their last 10 Premier League away trips to White Hart Lane (W1 D5 L4).

The Blues attempted just one shot on target in this match – their lowest tally in a PL game since April (1 v QPR on 12th April 2015).

Chelsea have now gone five successive PL away matches without a win (L3 D2); their worst run on the road in the competition since March 2013.

This result means that Chelsea are still yet to win back-to-back Premier League games in 2015-16.

Tottenham have conceded just three goals in their last seven Premier League home games.

Spurs have lost just two of their last 21 Premier League home matches (W12 D7 L2).

Spurs have now drawn 0-0 on three occasions this season in the Premier League; a joint-high alongside Man Utd.

West Ham United 1 West Bromwich Albion 1

West Ham have now conceded in nine successive Premier League games, the worst-current run in the top-flight.

However, the Hammers have now scored in 11 successive Premier League matches at Upton Park.

Mauro Zárate has scored in three of his four Premier League starts for West Ham United in 2015-16.

West Brom have lost just three of their last 11 Premier League matches away from home (W5 D3 L3).

Seven of the last 10 Premier League meetings between WBA and West Ham have ended in a draw.

In fact, five of the last six Premier League games between these two at Upton Park have ended level.

Tony Pulis’ side managed just 39% possession in this game – the third successive PL match that they’ve had less than 40% possession.

West Brom benefited from an own goal for the second successive Premier League game – their opponents scored just one own goal against them in the whole of 2014-15.

Liverpool 1 Swansea City 0

Liverpool have won six and lost none of the last eight meetings in all competitions with Swansea City (D2).

Liverpool have won 12 and lost none of their 15 league meetings with the Swans at Anfield (D3).

Swansea have won just six points from their last 10 Premier League games (W1 D3 L6).

Only Aston Villa (1) have won fewer points from their last 10 Premier League games than Swansea (6).

Liverpool have both taken (135) and scored (103) more penalties than any other side in Premier League history.

James Milner has scored in successive Premier League appearances against Swansea City.

James Milner has scored five of his six penalties in the Premier League, including the last four in a row.

Milner became the 16th player to score a penalty for 3+ clubs in the Premier League – of those 16; just three have scored for four different teams (Yakubu, Sheringham and Darren Bent).

Swansea did not manage a shot on target in this match – the second time in their last three Premier League matches that they have failed to do so (also 0 v Norwich).

Mesut Ozil has had a hand in 13 goals in his last 12 Premier League appearances (two goals, 11 assists).

Ozil has had a hand in 10 of Arsenal’s 14 Premier League goals since October 4th (two goals, eight assists).

Lewis Grabban scored his first goal for Norwich City since March 1st2015 (versus Ipswich).

Grabban has not ended on the losing side in any of the last 24 games that he’s scored in (W19 D5) – the last time he lost a game he scored in was back in October 2013.

Norwich have managed just one clean sheet in the Premier League this season, a joint league-low total (alongside Bournemouth).

Arsenal have conceded half of their 12 goals this season (6) in the 15 minute period before half time.

Arsenal average just 1.59 points per game in November under ArseneWenger in the Premier League, their worst month.

This season, Arsenal picked up just two points from their three games in November (draw v Spurs, loss v WBA and draw v Norwich), compared to 12 from 12 in October.
