Arsenal will meet Barcelona chiefs on Sunday and discuss a potential loan move for a playmaker, while Paulo Dybala’s wage demands have been revealed, according to Saturday’s papers.
ARSENAL MAKE SHOCK LOAN BID FOR BARCA STAR
Arsenal and Barcelona chiefs will reportedly meet on Sunday during their pre-season friendly to discuss a potential loan deal for Philippe Coutinho.
The Gunners and the Catalan giants will face off at the Nou Camp on Sunday for the Joan Gamper Trophy.
According to the Daily Express, Arsenal’s head of football Raul Sanllehi will meet his Barcelona counterparts and discuss if a move for Coutinho could be offing.
Spanish publication Sport claims that Barca are ready to send the Brazil playmaker out on loan, with the Premier League the most likely destination.
Barcelona want to sell the midfielder, who cost £143million just 18 months ago, after he failed to make a substantial impact – although they accept that a loan deal may be the best option, as the Premier League window shuts next Thursday.
However, the report goes on to add that it is unclear where the north London side will find any money for a loan deal, especially after shelling out a club-record £72m for Nicolas Pepe earlier this week.
