Keep up to date with all the comings, goings, done deals and rumours on TEAMtalk.com’s Transfer Deadline Day blog.

10.52pm: Rumours circulating that Remi Garde is considering his future as Aston Villa manager after the club failed to make any signings on Deadline Day. It’s worth around £200m to stay in the Premier League this season – have Villa now blown any (slim) hopes they had of avoided the drop?

10.51pm: Another late one from Stoke; the club has confirmed that Marco van Ginkel has had his loan at the club terminated from Chelsea and he has returned to his homeland with PSV Eindhoven.

10.49pm: Hughes on Imbula: “We had to wait for a few things to fall into place, but we’ve got it over the line and that’s the importnt thing. We’re absolutely delighted with the acquisition.”

10.37pm: Stoke have done it! They’ve got the £18.3million signing of Gianelli Imbula over the line. It’s another club record deal for the Potters, having beaten the £12million they paid Inter Milan for Xherdan Shaqiri over the summer. The French midfielder joins from Porto and has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal to keep him at the Britannia until June 2021. Huge news – and the biggest deal of the entire window anywhere in Europe!

Giannelli Imbula: In talks over move to Stoke

10.32pm: Busy evening at the Boro. The Championship promotion hopefuls have completed another late deal; this time for Standard Liege’s 20-year-old midfielder Julien De Sart.

Julien De Sart: Signs for Middlesbrough

10.30pm: Guillem Balague claiming that Middlesbrough striker Kike is set to sign for Eibar. The forward was mentioned as a possible target for Wolves, Leeds and Brighton earlier in the day.

10.21pm: And in another departure from the North-East, Jordi Gomez has completed a move from Sunderland to Blackburn. The former Wigan man has joined Rovers on a season-long loan and the deal could become permanent in the summer. The major news for Blackburn today, however, was the £13million sale of Jordan Rhodes to Middlesbrough.

Jordi Gomez: Joins Blackburn on loan

10.17pm: Sergiu Bus has joined Serie B side Salernitana on loan from Sheffield Wednesday.

10.15pm: Middlesbrough have cancelled the loan deal of Fernando Amorebieta, who has returned to Fulham.

10.01pm: Swansea have completed the season-long signing of QPR midfielder Leroy Fer. Decent capture for the Swans, though the Dutchman will be hoping to avoid a third straight relegation from the Premier League.

10pm: Just over an hour left….Anyone expecting some late drama? Surely it’ll only be Stoke’s capture of Imbuli….

9.41pm: Much-travelled Wales striker Simon Church has left MK Dons to join Aberdeen. The Dons, apparently, had been praying for a new frontman (apologies!)

9.38pm: Hull City have finalised the loan swoop for Nick Powell from Manchester United. The Tigers have the option to make the transfer permanent in the summer.

Nick Powell: Moves to Hull

9.37pm: Middlesbrough have completed the loan signing of Ritche De Laet from Leicester City.

9.23pm: Sky Sports News reporting that Leicester’s bid to sign Loic Remy has hit the buffers and is off, while Stoke have refused to sell them Mame Biram Diouf.

9.22pm: Hull City have completed the signing of Dusan Kuciak from Legia Warsaw.

9.07pm: Stoke loanee Marco van Ginkel is in talks with PSV Eindhoven over a permanent move from Chelsea. It seems the Potters are happy to get the Dutchman off the books with Gianelli Imbula poised to sign.

8:49pm: Rhodes move was the biggest move of the day, but not for long. Not wanting to be upstaged, Everton have announced the £13.5million signing of Lokomotiv Moscow striker Oumar Niasse.

Oumar Niasse

8:46pm: The biggest transfer saga in the Championship has finally been completed. Promotion chasing Middlesbrough have shown yet another huge statement of intent by splashing the cash to land Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes in a deal which could be worth up to £13million.

Jordan Rhodes

8.36pm: Deadline day is starting to gather momentum now as Arsenal confirm Mathieu Debuchy has completed his loan move to Ligue 1 club Bordeaux.

The right-back has struggled for first-team football this season after the emergence of Hector Bellerin, but rejected moves to Aston Villa and Sunderland. Debuchy will be hoping a return to France will help secure his place in Didier Deschamps’ squad for Euro 2016.

Arsenal have also allowed Yaya Sanogo to join Charlton on loan for the rest of the season. The striker opted for a move to The Valley, with Nottingham Forest also reportedly keen.

Debuchy

8.33pm: Some news from Spain, where Gary Neville has made his first signing as Valencia boss. Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev has moved to the Mestalla on a six-month loan deal.

Cheryshev had previously been linked with Liverpool.

8.26pm: DONE DEAL – Watford have announced the signing of 18-year-old Adalberto Penaranda on a four-year-deal for a fee understood to be in the region of £8million. Liverpool and Tottenham were reportedly interested in the Venezuelan, who will be loaned back to Grenada.

8.11pm: Sky Sports are reporting that Crystal Palace’s move for QPR goalkeeper Rob Green has broken down.

This is likely to affect the future of Palace stopper Alex McCarthy, who is wanted on loan by two Championship clubs. However, Alan Pardew said earlier today that McCarthy would only be allowed to depart if the Eagles managed to sign a replacement.

8.06pm: Newcastle have failed in a last effort to sign Saido Berahino after West Brom rejected their third and final bid for the striker.

8.01pm: Steven Fletcher has completed his move to Marseille from Sunderland. Great move for the Scot, who was out of contract in the summer. We’ll certainly follow his progress out there with interest.

Steven Fletcher: Out of contract this summer

7.58pm: Bristol City have seen a £2million bid for Bradley Dack rejected by Gillingham. Certainly looks a good player this one, so no shock they’ve snubbed that bid.

7.31pm: Could be a late addition to the midfield ranks at Swansea, with reports suggesting they’re in talks to sign Dutch midfielder Leroy Fer on loan from QPR.

7.28pm: Perhaps one for the summer this, but the agent of Chilean teenager Marcelo Allende says the player is in talks over a switch to the Gunners.

7.16pm: It wouldn’t be Deadline Day without a Jim White exclusive. The Sky Sports news presenter broke the news that Colin Kazim-Richards has signed a deal to join Celtic on a contract to the summer of 2018.

7.09pm: Here’s news of the (reported club record £8million) Watford signing of Abdoulaye Doucoure – and how they’ve loaned the midfielder straight back out to one of their feeder clubs.

Abdoulaye Doucoure: Signs for Watford - and leaves on loan

6.58pm: Here are updates on the rest of the clubs, from Manchester City to West Ham…

Manchester City: Patrick Roberts has moved on loan to Celtic. The big news, of course, is that Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed he will leave his post at the end of the season, to be replaced by Pep Guardiola.

Manchester United: There are no arrivals expected at Old Trafford, with reports of interest in Ahmed Musa seemingly wide of the mark.

Newcastle United: Roma striker Seydou Doumbia has joined on loan, while efforts to re-sign Jose Enrique from Liverpool fell short and West Brom have seemingly refused to sell them Saido Berahino.

Norwich City: Alex Neil has already signed six new players this month and does not expect to make any further additions, though he said “never say never”.

Southampton: Ronald Koeman is another manager to have ruled out any major last-minute business, but some of the club’s young players could leave on loan.

Stoke City: Mark Hughes is hoping to complete a £18million deal for Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula but admits he’s had to shelve efforts to sign Saido Berahino, while Ryan Shawcross’ speedy recovery from injury decreases the chances of a defensive signing.

Sunderland: Sam Allardyce wants to sign a defender on loan before the deadline, but the biggest transfer news on Wearside could be the sale of striker Steven Fletcher, who is in talks with Marseille.

Swansea City: A quiet day really with efforts to prise Dwight Gayle from Palace looking set to fail. There has been a departure though, with Eder joining French side Lille on loan for the rest of the season.

Tottenham: Alex Pritchard has joined West Brom on loan, but the Saido Berahino trail appears to have gone cold. Two more exits from White Hart Lane though saw Federico Fazio rejoin his former club Sevilla on loan, while Milos Veljkovic has joined Werder Bremen.

Watford: Rennes midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has signed for a fee of around £8million, becoming the club’s record signing. Quique Flores is also interested in signing a new striker before the deadline.

West Brom: It’s all gone quiet over Saido Berahino’s future and he looks set to stay at The Hawthorns. He’s been joined today by his England Under-21 team-mate Alex Pritchard, who has signed on loan from Tottenham.

West Ham: Slaven Bilic has been singing the praises of Emmanuel Emenike but does not expect to make any other late signings.

6.49pm: Here’s a round-up of what’s happened in the Premier League so far….(We’ll start with Arsenal to Liverpool)

Arsenal: No incomings, but Mathieu Debuchy and Serge Gnabry look set to leave on loan.

Aston Villa: Remi Garde has missed out on several players but still hopes to make one signing, with Ravel Morrison a possibility.

Bournemouth: The Cherries have signed their former full-back Rhoys Wiggins from Sheffield Wednesday.

Chelsea: There will be no more signings after Alexandre Pato, but Loic Remy could leave Stamford Bridge today amid talk of a £10million offer from Leicester City.

Crystal Palace: The Eagles could allow Alex McCarthy to leave on loan, should they bring in a replacement. QPR’s former England keeper Rob Green has been linked with a move across the capital.

Everton: Oumar Niasse is at the Everton training ground to complete his £13.5million move from Lokomotiv Moscow, while Aiden McGeady has left on loan.

Leicester City: Claudio Ranieri wants to sign a striker and has apparently been offered Robinho, but a £10million deal for Loic Remy appears more likely.

Liverpool: There was talk of a possible move for Denis Cheryshev this morning, but that was quickly dismissed. A late deal for Alex Teixeia was later ruled out by a frustrated Jurgen Klopp.

6.40pm: A done deal over the line at Vicarage Road after Watford announced the signing of Abdoulaye Doucoure from Ligue 1 club Rennes.

6.38pm: So, to summarise, here’s the big deals that look likely to go through before the window slams shut at 11pm….

Gianelli Imbula to Stoke for £18million

Oumar Niasse to Everton for £13.5million

Jordan Rhodes to Middlesbrough for £13million

Loic Remy to Leicester for £10million

Loic Remy, Chelsea

6.20pm: Leicester full-back Ritchie De Laet is in talks over a loan move to Middlesbrough.

6.15pm: Bournemouth have completed a busy window by finalising a deal to bring full-back Rhoys Wiggins back to the club from Sheffield Wednesday.

6.08pm: Fulham have completed the loan signing of Zakaria Labyad from Sporting on a deal until the end of the season.

6.04pm: The biggest deal of the window could be happening at Stoke – with the club in talks with Gianelli Imbula having agreed a club-record £18million fee with Porto.

Giannelli Imbula: In talks over move to Stoke

6.02pm: No return to Newcastle for Jose Enrique, who, it seems, is all about the Benjamins, going by media reports. Anyway, the defender is returning to Merseyside after failing to agree terms on a deal to his former club.

5.58pm: Leicester looked to have failed in their efforts to sign Ahmed Musa, so are reportedly ready to try again for two of their former targets, Stoke striker Mame Biram Diouf and Loic Remy of Chelsea.

Mame Diouf: Stoke City striker has good record against West Brom

5.47pm: Swansea defender Daniel Alfei is joining Mansfield on loan until the end of the season.

5.26pm: Dwight Gayle is poised to end speculation over his future by signing new deal at Crystal Palace until the summer of 2020.

5.15pm: A quick update on our poll – still time to influence the vote….

5.13pm: Bayern Munich have confirmed the loan signing of Serdar Tasci from Spartak Moscow on what has been a quiet Deadline Day in the Bundesliga.

5.03pm: Burton striker Nasser El Khayati has completed a move to QPR, where he will link-up with his old Brewers boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

4.56pm: Swansea striker Eder has joined Lille on loan for the rest of the season. Eder only signed a three-year Swansea deal last summer after completing a £5million move from Portuguese club Sporting Braga.

4.45pm: Stoke have rejected a bid from Marseille for striker Peter Odemwingie. They’re also currently in talks over a deal, either on a pre-contract or permanent from today, for Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher.

4.44pm: Leeds striker Mirco Antenucci looks as though he could secure a move back to Italy. The forward has reportedly rejected a move to Foggia. Ascoli in pole position or his old club Ternana are also in for him.

4.22pm: Mark Hughes has confirmed that Stoke are in talks to sign Porto’s Giannelli Imbula, with the Potters reportedly having agreed a club-record fee of £18million with the Portuguese side.

Hughes says: “Talks have been progressing. Hopefully by the end of the day we’ll be able to announce something.”

Giannelli Imbula: Porto midfielder linked with Stoke City

4.18pm: Claudio Ranieri has confirmed Leicester City remain in negotiations to bring a new striker to the King Power Stadium.

The Premier League leaders have failed in a bid to sign Italy international Eder and their attempts to bring CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa no longer look promising.

Leicester still have players under consideration, with Loic Remy at Ranieri’s former club Chelsea and Crystal Palace’s Dwight Gayle linked with a move to the Foxes.

“Always I am positive but now, believe me, I am very focused on the next match,” said Ranieri, whose team host Liverpool on Tuesday night.

“There are other people involved in the negotiations. Everything is done [identifying players] and now it is their job. My job is thinking about the team.”

4.17pm: Alan Pardew says goalkeeper Alex McCarthy is likely to leave Crystal Palace on loan if the club manage to sign a replacement, with Rob Green a reported target.

“(McCarthy’s) a great goalie and we want to get him up to speed and get him back playing his best football, so he needs game time,” Pardew said. “I took that option, rather than Jules (Speroni) going out, because Jules is Palace through and through and I want him around in case anything happens to Wayne (Hennessey).”

4.12pm: We’re hearing the fee Middlesbrough are paying to Blackburn for Jordan Rhodes could be set at a staggering £13million, which would (as things stand) be the highest transfer fee spent by any club in Europe this January window.

4.03pm: Hull remain confident of a deal to sign Nick Powell from Manchester United.

4.00pm: Bordeaux have completed a loan deal to sign Mathieu Debuchy from Arsenal according to unconfirmed reports in France.

Mathieu Debuchy: Looking to move from Arsenal

3.45pm: The deal for Norwich to sign Patrick Bamford was done on Saturday, but City boss Alex Neil has spoken to the press today to say how he thinks he’s signed a player worth £10million. (Yes, really!)

3.33pm: Reports coming out of Liverpool suggest Jose Enrique is in talks about a free transfer return to his former club Newcastle.

3.28pm: Newcastle have reportedly had a £15.2m bid rejected for Sporting striker Islam Slimani amid claims they have abandoned their hunt for Saido Berahino.

3.25pm: Another former Liverpool target, Barcelona full-back Martin Montoya, has completed a loan move to Real Betis.

3.17pm: Some big news coming out of Newcastle, with Ayoze Perez having committed his future to the club by signing a new five-and-a-half-year contract which ties him to St James’ Park until the summer of 2021. The Spanish striker had been a target for Manchester United and Spurs.

2.45pm: And in a further blow to Liverpool, reports in Germany suggest Schalke are offering defender Joel Matip a double-your-money new deal in a bid to keep the Cameroon defender out of Klopp’s clutches.

2.42pm: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed a quiet Deadline Day at Anfield after admitting he’s been forced to abandon their bid to sign Shakhtar star Alex Teixeria.

2.37pm: One for the summer, but Alan Pardew has confirmed he’ll attempt to bring John Terry in at Crystal Palace when the former England defender leaves Chelsea at the end of the season.

2.34pm: Wolves, Leeds, Brighton are battling to snap up Middlesbrough forward Kike, sources have told TEAMtalk.

2.25pm: Bizarre rumour doing the rounds earlier was Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain being the subject of an approach from his former club Southampton. Highly-unlikely there’s anything in that one, however.

2.24pm: Three departures from Spurs today then with Alex Pritchard joining West Brom, Milos Veljkovic, who has joined Werder Bremen on a permanent deal, and Federico Fazio has rejoined his former club Sevilla on loan.

2.21pm: A couple of done deals for you with Aiden McGeady joining ambitious Championship side Sheffield Wednesday on a season-long loan from Everton, while Patrick Roberts has finalised a 18-month loan deal from Manchester City to Celtic.

Aiden McGeady: Everton winger set for Championship loan

2.06pm: Here’s Newcastle new-boy Seydou Doumbia posing with his new shirt. Full story on his move right here.

1.57pm: One player who looks as though he’s staying – though we’d have been shocked had he left – is Gary Cahill, who insists he’s settled at Chelsea following talks with Guus Hiddink. 1.53pm: Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher is travelling to France to discuss a move to Ligue 1 with Marseille. 1.45pm: WBA have got the loan of Alex Pritchard over the line it seems….

1.30pm: Here are updates on the rest of the clubs, from Manchester City to West Ham…

Manchester City: Three players could leave on loan, but there will be no signings. One of these is Patrick Roberts, who has moved to Celtic. The big news, of course, is that Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed he will leave his post at the end of the season, to be replaced by Pep Guardiola.

Manchester United: There are no arrivals expected at Old Trafford either, with reports of interest in Ahmed Musa seemingly wide of the mark.

Newcastle United: Roma striker Seydou Doumbia has joined on loan, while talk continues to suggest they could make another bid for West Brom’s Saido Berahino.

Norwich City: Alex Neil has already signed six new players this month and does not expect to make any further additions, though he said “never say never”.

Southampton: Ronald Koeman is another manager to have ruled out any major last-minute business, but some of the club’s young players could leave on loan.

Stoke City: Mark Hughes is hoping to complete a £14million deal for Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula and could even sign a striker – the Potters retain an interest in Saido Berahino – but Ryan Shawcross’ speedy recovery from injury decreases the chances of a defensive signing.

Sunderland: Sam Allardyce wants to sign a defender on loan before the deadline, with Arsenal’s Mathieu Debuchy linked. Bournemouth apparently want Jermain Defoe, but the Black Cats would surely block any transfer.

Swansea City: Ravel Morrison has been linked, while Swansea have apparently been offered Robinho. The south Wales club are also said to have made a £7million bid for Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle.

Tottenham: Alex Pritchard is set to join West Brom on loan, but could Saido Berahino move in the opposite direction? Spurs haven’t bid yet, but the local press in the West Midlands say Albion would listen to offers over £20million.

Watford: Rennes midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure is expected to sign for £8million, becoming the club’s record signing. Quique Flores is also interested in signing a new striker before the deadline.

West Brom: Saido Berahino’s future is dominating headlines, but Tony Pulis is focused on trying to get players in. Alex Pritchard is set to sign on loan from Tottenham.

West Ham: Slaven Bilic has been singing the praises of Emmanuel Emenike but does not expect to make any other late signings.

Slaven Bilic

1.15pm: As expected, it’s been a quiet day day so far with no major transfers completed. Here is a reminder of everything that could happen at your club before the 11pm deadline, starting with Arsenal through to Leicester City…

Arsenal: No incomings, but Mathieu Debuchy and Serge Gnabry could leave on loan.

Aston Villa: Remi Garde has missed out on several players but still hopes to make one signing, with Debuchy a top target. Ravel Morrison has also been linked.

Bournemouth: Lewis Cook has ruled out leaving Leeds United before the deadline, but the Cherries have also been linked with Morrison. There is also talk of a bid for Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe.

Chelsea: There will be no more signings after Alexandre Pato, but Loic Remy could leave Stamford Bridge today amid talk of a £10million offer from Leicester City.

Crystal Palace: Arsenal have ruled out allowing Kieran Gibbs to leave on loan, but Palace are reportedly chasing one unnamed player ahead of the deadline.

Everton: Oumar Niasse is at the Everton training ground to complete his £13.5million move from Lokomotiv Moscow, while Aiden McGeady could leave on loan.

Leicester City: Claudio Ranieri wants to sign a striker and has apparently been offered Robinho, but a £10million deal for Loic Remy appears more likely. Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle is another who’s been linked.

Liverpool: There was talk of a possible move for Denis Cheryshev this morning, but that was quickly dismissed. A late deal for Alex Teixeia has not been completely ruled out, but it looks unlikely.

Denis Cheryshev

1pm: West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has been speaking about the qualities Emmanuel Emenike will provide having joined the club on loan from Fenerbache. Bilic says the Hammers’ business is “finished”, though Nikica Jelavic could still leave.

12.50pm: Sunderland hope to complete their business for the month with a final loan signing – they have been linked with Arsenal’s Mathieu Debuchy – but Ronald Koeman says Southampton are done. Alex Neil is also not expecting to add to his Norwich City squad.

12.45pm: Manchester City could loan out three players today, two of them to Celtic, but the Premier League title-chasers are not planning to make any additions to their squad.

12.30pm: Leicester City want to sign a striker today and have, along with Swansea City, apparently been offered the chance to sign former Manchester City striker Robinho. Several players could leave the King Power Stadium, with Tom Lawrence the first out of the door, joining Cardiff City on loan.

Robinho

12.15pm: Senegal striker Oumar Niasse is at Everton’s training ground for talks and a medical ahead of his £13.5million move from Lokomotiv Moscow, but the Toffees are not expected to make any other signings today. Aiden McGeady could join Sheffield Wednesday on loan, but Darron Gibson looks likely to stay at the club.

12noon: Crystal Palace are considering a deadline-day move for an unnamed player, according to BBC Sport journalist David Ornstein, but Arsenal have told them Kieran Gibbs is not available on loan.

11.45am: Arsene Wenger said lots of nice things about John Terry at his press conference, but the Arsenal boss will not try to sign the defender if he leaves Chelsea in the summer: “He is at the end of his career and he has spent his career at Chelsea. If he wants to play longer, I am sure he will play for Chelsea.”

11.30am: Newcastle United are waiting on the results of Seydou Doumbia‘s medical before announcing the striker’s on loan from Roma. Should the medical show any problems, Saido Berahino, Loic Remy and Bafetimbi Gomis are alternative options.

11.15am: One of the busiest clubs today could be Stoke City. They have resurrected their move for Porto midfielder Giannelli Imbula and hope to complete a £14million deal today, while Mark Hughes may be tempted to sign a centre-back on loan after Marc Wilson sustained a medial knee ligament injury.

The Potters are also interested in Saido Berahino for the right price. We’re hearing that Newcastle United are willing to offer up to £25million for the forward, but it has been reported that West Brom do not want to sell to the Magpies.

11.10am: A bit of news from the Championship now – Rohan Ince is set to join Fulham on loan from Brighton, while Cardiff City have signed Danish forward Kenneth Zohore on loan from Belgium side KV Kortrijk.

11am: Chelsea are also not expected to make any signings today, but they could let another striker leave Stamford Bridge, with reports suggesting Leicester City have agreed a £10million deal to sign Loic Remy. Guus Hiddink has been talking about his decision to loan out Patrick Bamford to Norwich City

Loic Remy, Chelsea

10.45am: For any Manchester United fans holding out hope of a surprise transfer today, don’t bother. There are no rumours whatsoever suggesting Louis van Gaal will add to his squad, with reports of interest in CSKA Moscow’s Ahmed Musa seemingly wide of the mark.

10.30am: Bournemouth have been trying to sign Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook, but the 18-year-old says he will “definitely” still be at Elland Road come the morning. The Championship club are also chasing up to three new signings.

10.15am: Arsene Wenger says he is “99 per cent” sure Arsenal will not sign anybody today. He also says it “doesn’t look like” Mathieu Debuchy will be leaving at the moment, though he said a loan deal could yet be struck with another Premier League club. Aston Villa are certainly interested.

One player that is definitely leaving Emirates Stadium on loan is Serge Gnabry, to an unnamed Championship club.

Mathieu Debuchy

9.45am: There have been conflicting reports over whether West Brom are willing to sell Saido Berahino today, but Express & Star claims Albion ARE willing to listen to offers of over £20million. However, the newspaper adds they are unwilling to sell to Newcastle, who are only seven points behind them in the Premier League.

That would explain why the Magpies are set to sign Seydou Doumbia on loan from Roma, but it also adds weight to the theory that Berahino could be a Tottenham player by the end of the day. The Baggies are set to sign Alex Pritchard on loan from Spurs, suggesting any problems between the clubs have been resolved, while the north Londoners have ended their interest in Fulham’s Moussa Dembele. Could this one happen today?

9.30am: Just hours after reporting that Liverpool could sign Denis Cheryshev on loan, the Daily Mirror now say the Reds are yet to submit a bid for the Russian. He looks likely to join Sevilla instead, leaving Liverpool unlikely to make any last-minute signings. Does anyone hold out hope of a revived deal for Alex Teixeira? No? Us neither.

9.15am: One club struggling to make signings is Aston Villa. Remi Garde has been speaking about his disappointment at the collapsed deal for Hajduk Split goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic, and he has apparently missed out on Seydou Doumbia too, with the Roma striker set for Newcastle. A loan deal for Arsenal full-back Mathieu Debuchy could be his best hope of a signing.

Seydou Doumbia

9am: In case you missed them, there were two transfers confirmed on Sunday evening. Nigeria centre-forward Emmanuel Emenike has joined West Ham on loan for the rest of the season from Fenerbahce, while Newcastle winger Florian Thauvin has returned to Marseille on loan, also until the end of the season.

8.45am: Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear he would like to sign a striker before the window shuts, but it doesn’t look like being Moussa Dembele as Fulham wanted to keep him on loan for the rest of the season.

Saido Berahino

8.30am: The other big news last night was that West Brom had rejected a £21million offer from Newcastle United for Saido Berahino. However, it is claimed Tottenham will make another bid after giving up on Moussa Dembele, while Stoke City are also monitoring developments.

8.15am: The big news on Sunday evening was that John Terry will leave Chelsea at the end of the season, but a club spokesman insists the 35-year-old could yet be offered a new contract by the new manager. Surely whoever that is would be mad to let a player of Terry’s experience move on? We reckon he’ll still be at Stamford Bridge come August…

John Terry

8.10am: According to the newspapers, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Tottenham, Stoke City and Leicester City could all make signings today. Read all the Paper Talk here

8am: Welcome to our Transfer Deadline Day blog. We’re expecting it to be a relatively quiet one, but there are still plenty of clubs looking to bolster their squads for the final time this season. We’ll post news of any done deals or rumours here as they happen throughout the day. We’ll be with you right the way through until 11pm when the window slams shut. Get involved by joining in with the debate below.
